Kutupalong Rohingya camp is the largest refugee camp in the world. Nearly 6 lakh refugees live in this mega camp. More than 30 Rohingya camps have been built around 6,500 acres of forest land in Ukhia and Teknaf Upazila of Cox’s Bazar. There are 12 lakh Rohingya refugees who live temporarily in these camps.

Around 12 lakh Rohingyas have fled to Bangladesh, including about 700,000 who arrived in the country after August 25, when the Myanmar military launched a brutal crackdown in Rakhine which the United Nations called ‘a textbook case of genocide’.

The Rohingya favor safe repatriation from Bangladesh to Myanmar.
