A fire broke out in Unchiprang Rohingya Refugee camp, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh at 2:00 pm on April 1.

The fire has consumed around 25 structures including a learning, an office, four local Chakma houses and Rohingya shelters.

The source of blaze is still unknown. However, it is reportedly believed that it started from the office of International Research Committee (IRC) located in the Unchiprang Rohingya Camp.

No one sustains any major injuries except the loss of possessions by the refugees and local people.

The Rohingya refugees affected by the fire are temporarily being provided shelters.

The fire incidence took in the time when Bangladesh declares lockdown nationwide and people include Rohingya refugees are advised to follow social distancing policies.
