Rohingya refugees face difficulty of healthcare in Bangladesh

Kutupalong, Bangladesh: Rohingya refugees – staying in Kutupalong makeshift camp and Lada  refugee camp- are facing difficulty of healthcare  after Bangladesh government barred to stop the activities of three INGOs, working on Rohingya refugee camps, said a refugee from Kutupalong makeshift camp.
“After announcement of Bangladesh, the INGOs – France’s Doctors without Borders (MSF) and Action Against Hunger (ACF) – stopped their activities in the camp and we are getting problem of hygienic and sanitation in our camp which need to look after every day. Otherwise it become over loaded and all drains will be blocked which was running by ACF.”
“The problem of hygienic and sanitation in our camp will start healthcare problems- diarrhea, dysentery, skin disease and fever in refugee camp. The refugees are not able to go hospital as they are poor. Earlier, the refugees were getting facility from MSF for their healthcare, but, now, no way for them to get this facility for banning the MSF activities in the camp by Bangladesh authority.”
We are also not able to feed our family after stopping the activities of INGOs in the camp as we were working as voluntary worker  for INGOs and get some support from INGOs, said a refugee who worked as voluntary job in ACF.
Similarly, the refugees from Lada camp are also facing problem for healthcare and water crisis which are giving facilities in the camp by Muslim Aid UK, said a refugee from Lada.
The Bangladesh government has asked MSF, ACF and Muslim Aid UK to suspend their activities on charge of alluring the refugees of relief materials and thus encouraging their influx into Bangladesh.
“They were providing negative information to the international media about Bangladesh corruption the image of the country,” the Deputy Commissioner of Cox’s Bazar Joynul Bari said.
“The charities “were encouraging an influx of Rohingya refugees” from across the border in Myanmar’s Rakhine state in the wake of recent sectarian violence.”
“If we suspend our activities here it’ll create tension in the Rohingya camps and the border area,” said Sarwar Alam, the officer of Muslim Aid Teknaf area.
“The officials ordered us to stop our so-called “illegal” services in the Burma-Bangladesh border area because we were supposedly “encouraging an influx of Rohingya refugees” from Burma.”
“The Bangladesh Prime minister and Foreign minister declared to the world that the Bangladesh border was shut down for entering Rohingya from Arakan State. How the INGOs help the illegal entering Rohingyas while the border forces, coast guards and security forces are watching the border to stop the entering of Rohingyas from Arakan State as per high official ordered, said an officer from local NGOs from Bangladesh.
